A BUILDER, NOT A BYSTANDER!
Meet Tamika
Most candidates talk about 'caring.' I talk about Standard of Care. As a state-licensed provider managing highly regulated systems and a tech founder who built SheltrLink, I don’t see our city’s challenges as mysteries; I see them as Logic Leaks. I have spent 20 years in the 'Warzone' of foster care and homelessness, building the data-driven infrastructure to restore accountability where manual bureaucracy has failed.
I am not running to occupy a seat; I am running to fix the plumbing of District 1
I am the Founder and Executive Director of Connections for Women, providing emergency shelter and support for homeless families, and operating a state-licensed STRTP serving foster youth under a county contract. I work within highly regulated systems to ensure accountability, safety, and measurable outcomes.
As a District 1 business owner and creator of SheltrLink, a data-driven platform improving coordination in homelessness services, I bring a builder’s mindset to leadership. I also advanced equitable economic policy in Long Beach and serve as the Board Co-Chair and Commissioner of the Long Beach Continuum of Care for Homelessness, actively bridging sectors to deliver practical solutions.
Why I’m Running
Tamika Wagner-Osio is running for Long Beach City Council, District 1, because she believes leadership should be measured by outcomes, not intentions. Her work across homelessness, family shelter, foster care, City of Long Beach small business, economic equity, and innovation reflects a single guiding principle: if policy doesn’t improve lives, it isn’t working and it must change.
She is committed to practical solutions, fiscal responsibility, and building a District 1 where families thrive, businesses grow, and everyone has a fair chance at stability and opportunity.
